A newly renovated Concord Hospital Pediatric Unit will have four private and two semi-private patient rooms for a total of eight patient beds. Each room will include space for parents to room-in with their children and comfortably stay for long periods of time, if necessary. Additionally, there will be a playroom; and a treatment room where some procedures can be administered. This treatment room is so children, who need emergency care and longer-term observation, will be in an environment less frightening than a bustling emergency department and cared for by specially trained nurses. The 2008 annual Challenge Scramble Golf Tournament benefitted renovation of the Concord Hospital Pediatric Unit, which is expected to be completed by the end of fall 2008.
