The Concord Hospital Organization Development Department offers Concord Hospital employees access to a variety of programs on topics such as: interpersonal skills, leadership, managing individuals and teams, and enhancing influence. These programs provide greater knowledge, awareness, and understanding about concepts and tools for increasing personal effectiveness with regard to work relationships.

Below are examples of the types of programs that are available to employees:

  • Generations at Work: The days of generic one size fits all performance management and communication approaches have been over for some time. People differ from one another in many ways and nowhere is this more evident than in managing/trying to get along with multiple generations in work groups. In this program, participants explore the key hallmarks of and reasons for generational differences at work, and through interactive group discussion, begin to identify more effective communication strategies that take into account some of the unique characteristics of different generations.
  • Situational SELF Leadership: Would you like to develop strategies for gaining more satisfaction from your work? Are you wondering what D1, D2, D3, and D4 mean in relation to your knowledge, skill, and confidence levels? This program will assist people in forming positive partnerships between themselves and their leaders by aligning their understanding with a common language and framework: Situational Leadership. Participants will learn how to better manage themselves and ask for what they need from their managers and co-workers to increase personal effectiveness. The concepts and tools will help individuals to take responsibility for self/career development, and success. Creating yearly performance and development agreements with your manager will become easier and more comfortable.
  • Understanding Personalities at Work - Colors: This program will explore methods of understanding the impact differences in individual perceptions and judgment can have upon communication, relationships, and conflict resolution. It will examine basic differences in styles of personality and help reduce perceptual prejudice between styles. Applications are highlighted for work and team situations and will emphasize how to patients, co-workers, managers, and others.
  • Emotional Intelligence & Performance Management: This program will help participants identify, understand and manage their own and others' emotions during performance discussions. Skills taught include how to gain agreement on competencies, gaining agreement on strengths, developing compensating strategies for weaknesses, and holding emotionally intelligent performance discussions that meet organization and individual needs.
