  • Vacations - Residents at all levels receive 20 days of paid time-off (combination of vacation and sick days) per year.
  • Educational time-off – Five days of educational/conference time is allowed for PGYII and PGYIII residents only. This time is also to be utilized for interviewing days.
  • Stipends (2006-2007)
    PGYI: $40,157
    PGYII: $42,652
    PGYIII: $44,365
  • Book and educational fund - Discretionary funds equaling 1% of a resident’s annual stipend are available for support of educational/professional meetings, conferences, courses and books. Additionally, Palm Pilots are provided to residents during PGY1 year.
    PGYI = $160 + Palm Pilot (approx. $240)
    PGYII = $424 (1% of stipend)
    PGYIII = $444 (1% of stipend)
  • Medical coverage – Comprehensive medical coverage is provided to residents, their spouses and their children at no cost.
  • Dental insurance: An optional dental coverage plan is available to residents and their families (Cost is shared by residents and Concord Hospital).
  • Life insurance - Life insurance equivalent to the stipend is provided.
  • Disability income protection insurance - The resident disability insurance policy provides a benefit of up to 80 percent of monthly stipend during periods of defined disability, to age 65.
  • Professional liability insurance - Residents are protected under the Concord Hospital policy.
  • Uniforms - Laboratory coats for residents are supplied and laundered by Concord Hospital.
  • On-site childcare center – Programs for infants, toddlers, preschool, and kindergarten age children year-round.
  • Meal on-call - Residents receive an on-call allowance for meals.
  • Annuity/retirement - Optional tax-deferred annuity savings plans are available.
