The Concord Hospital Asthma Education Program helps people with asthma, and their family members, manage the disease and reduce its impact on their quality of life.

The program offers free education classes on a monthly basis. These classes are led by a respiratory therapist or registered nurse experienced in working with people with asthma. The topics covered during these sessions include:

• Disease process
• Environmental triggers
• The role of medications
• Proper use of metered-dose inhalers
• Peak flow monitoring
• When to call your physician
