Visiting Guidelines
Concord Hospital recognizes the value of family and friends in the healing process. Family and friends, in good health, including
children accompanied by an adult, are welcome to visit during visiting hours or as arranged to accommodate patient and family needs.
We respect our patients’ rights to restrict or refuse visitors.
We ask that you please adhere to the following visiting guidelines:
- Anyone recently exposed to a communicable disease (such as chicken pox, measles, whooping cough) should not visit.
- We request no more than two visitors with a patient at one time. Patients are often so pleased to know of your concern that they hesitate to mention that they’re tired, weak or uncomfortable. Please make your visits brief and leave promptly at the end of visiting hours. Visitors may be asked to leave the room during treatments or examinations.
- Food is not always an appropriate gift. Please ask the patient’s care provider about dietary restrictions before bringing any food or drink to a patient.
- Smoking is not allowed in the hospital or on its grounds.
- Special arrangements must be made with the patient care staff to use the private dining room for small celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries.
- In certain situations, it may be necessary to appoint a member of the family or close friend as a spokesperson to disseminate information to other concerned family members and friends. This will facilitate communication between the patient’s family and care providers. Please inform your care provider who your contact person will be and where he or she can be reached.
Visiting Hours
Patients wishing to restrict visitors should speak with a member of their care team. Please don’t hesitate to tell visitors if
you are tired and need to rest.
