Concord Hospital Cholesterol Treatment Center is dedicated to helping adults lower cholesterol and reduce cardiac risk. It is also the only facility in the State where children can be treated for cholesterol disorders. All patients receive an individualized diet consultation, medication management assistance, exercise program and follow-up with a registered dietitian. Additionally, eligible patients have access to national and international clinical trials that evaluate the effectiveness of different cholesterol-lowering medications. The Cholesterol Treatment Center is located in the Memorial Building, Suite 210.

Drs. Fox, Lynch and McGowan are board-certified in lipidology or cholesterol metabolism. Dr. McGowan and her team of specialists are dedicated to treating cholesterol disorders. A nurse practitioner and dietitian have extensive experience in cholesterol management. In addition to being one of only two cholesterol treatment centers in the state, the Cholesterol Treatment Center is the only one in the state where children can be seen and treated. Dr. Susan Lynch, a pediatrician specializing in cholesterol and childhood obesity, consults with parents and children with cholesterol disorders.

The Cholesterol Treatment Center is appropriate for individuals who fall into any of the following categories:

  • Adults with coronary artery disease, diabetes or who have suffered a stroke
  • Children with high cholesterol
  • Adults with genetically high cholesterol
