Cancer Support Groups and Education Print Page

Concord Hospital and other community healthcare facilities sponsor a variety of support groups that are open to the public. Support groups and educational programs provide a comfortable, safe environment where you can share your feelings and thoughts on a particular life experience. All programs require registration.

Living with Cancer Support Group
Held the first and third Monday of each month, 4:30-6 pm. Call (603) 227-7000, ext. 3013.

Caregivers’ Networking Time
Held on the first Saturday of each month for individuals to meet others, share ideas, energize each other, and learn techniques designed to help anyone who has a loved one with cancer, 9-10:30 am. Call (603) 230-6031.

Managing Cancer Related Fatigue
An American Cancer Society, I Can Cope session, with ideas to help manage fatigue for patients and family members. June 3, 11 am - 1 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Aquatic Exercise Survivors
Experience the benefits of water exercise for survivors. Limited space, register early. Held at Center for Sports Medicine pool at Concord Orthopaedics. April 15, 5:30-6:30 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

SWIM/Aqua Men
Water fitness classes for cancer survivors and caregivers at the Racquet Club of Concord. $5.00/session (scholarships available) Saturdays April 24 - June 5. 2-3 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

After School Teen Pizza and Pop
For teens whose parents, family members, or loved ones have cancer. Come meet others, share stories and enjoy pizza and pop together! Fridays, March 5 - April 9. 3-5 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Gastrointestinal Cancer Networking Lunch
Connect with other patients and caregivers coping with the following diagnosis: esophageal, stomach, colon, rectal and anal cancers. Share information and resources. Thursday, May 27 12-1:30 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Cancer Survivorship Series: Eat, Breathe and Jump Your Way into a Healthy Future
This is a four part series for cancer survivors looking for the life skills with which to move on in a healthful manner. Topics include nutrition, stress reduction, exercise and community resources. Tuesdays, May 11, 5-7 pm and May 18 - June 1, 5-6:30 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Man to Man
Held in partnership with the American Cancer Society for men with prostate cancer and their partners on the second Wednesday of each month, 5-7 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Staying Connected Support Group
Held the first Wednesday of each month for women facing breast or gynecological cancer, 5-7 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

A Woman’s Journey
Held Fridays April 2 through May 7 for women recently diagnosed with breast or gynecological cancer, 12-1:30 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Look Good…Feel Better
Held in partnership with the American Cancer Society for women in treatment to combat appearance related side effects. This is a one day two hour session. Tuesdays, March 9, 2-4 pm, April 13, 5-7 pm, and May 11, 2-4 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Family Support Group
Held in partnership with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for individuals with blood cancer and their family members the second Monday of each month, 5-7 pm. Call (603) 230-6031.

Living with Lung Cancer
Held for individuals with lung cancer along with their partners. Thursdays, March 11, April 8, and May 13, 12-1:30 pm.
