About Us
The Family Place at Concord Hospital provides a home-like atmosphere where expectant moms can share the birthing experience with
their loved ones. At The Family Place, women labor, deliver, recover and receive postpartum care all in the same comfortable, home-like
room. Cesarean births take place in The Family Place operating suite, so moms can recover in familiar surroundings with their partners
and babies close by.

Why Choose Concord Hospital?
Concord Hospital is recognized as a Baby Friendly Hospital. There are more than 19,000 designated Baby-Friendly hospitals and birth centers worldwide.Currently there are
91 Baby-Friendly hospitals and birth centers in the United States. The “Baby-Friendly” designation is given after a rigorous on-site survey is completed. The award is
maintained by continuing to practice the Ten Steps as demonstrated by quality processes.
Having a baby is a special time in you and your family's life. To best prepare you and your family for before and after your new
arrival, The Family Place at Concord Hospital and Concord Hospital Center for Health Promotion offers many childbirth and parenting and family management classes.
The private birthing rooms are designed so friends and family can enjoy the new baby in the privacy of one room and mom can relax and rest comfortably. Private baths and whirlpools in each room add to the comfortable surroundings. The virtual tours section of this Web site features an online tour of a birthing room.
Our level II nursery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is staffed by highly skilled neonatal nurses. If a baby needs special care, he or she will stay in the nursery where quiet muted colors help reduce over stimulation. In the event moms are discharged before their babies can go home, guest rooms are available for parents to stay.
After each baby's birth, we arrange a "Baby's First Homecoming" visit by a Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association nurse who will examine mom and baby at home and guide them through a comfortable transition after delivery. Moms are encouraged to call or return for individual help should they have concerns after leaving the hospital. The Family Place also offers many support and educational programs for parents as they continue their transition into parenthood.
